Have visited Hopetoun several times. Worth taking the guided tour to get the most from the place, and worth climbing up to the roof for the views. Lovely grounds to walk in.

This is a beautiful country house in an extrordinarily lovely location. The Festive Fair was good, with a varied range of stalls and venues. However the Afternoon High Tea was quite poor I am afraid. After a longish wait a pot of tea was served, which was cold before the food arrived. The food itself was average really. The service was below par albeit the service staff were pleasant enough. All just a bit too much for them I felt. No response from staff at my 'thank you' on exit. They were busy chatting to each other. Not my best experience and rather disappointing for my friend also.

Visited for the annual fireworks display. All quite enjoyable, but the chip van ran out of chips. The fireworks were out of time to the music and the egress from the house was a shambles.

Our daughter chose Hopetoun House as her wedding venue and what fabulous decision that proved to be! From the very first visit until the big day itself, Clare and her Events team, together with Michael and his catering team from Heritage Portfolio were all incomparable. Faultless, preparation and seamless, unflappable service throughout the day. Everything was quite simply.... perfect. Thank you , thank you, thank you!

I secretly love the history of this place. The beauty of the landscape. The lapping around the Firth of Forth. The secret archways the beautiful oldest tress I have seen. Visited Abercorn church and then the war memorial. It was a lovely graveyard. Open trees primed and pruned. The walled surround and the little coach house did chapel. There was considerable parking. Lots of rabbits hopping about and pheasants milling about though and hooting through the estate. Has a close population of some of the biggest raptors I have seen ever. They seem to be doing really well by living off the sea successfully.
